This app pops up whenever you start your car and overrides whatever you were doing on your phone. There is no way to stop this. You need to exit the app after spoon feeding it into every time. It also never remembers your account so you have to keep signing in. It’s not worth it for the garmin traffic. Just use Apple or google maps for traffic info.

Garbage will be returned today.

I updated the app and the store says latest update is 1.5.5 but my phone says 1.5.4 and it’s still crappy. I cannot believe that a company like Kenwood would use an app as bad as this and never make it usable. It’s constantly asking me to create an account and it’ll connect and then all of a sudden disconnect. This has never worked properly since I bought my car back in 2017 Shame on them, I will never put a KENWOOD radio in a car again. I use with Apple Maps or Google maps instead since this one is useless

I have to enter my long email address most every time I try to use this piece of crap.

Despite setting this app up, having my phone connect to the Kenwood head, and configuring the Garmin nav in the Kenwood head, this app has NEVER provided any traffic info or anything else in the Garmin navigation on the Kenwood. Of course the Garmin system on the Kenwood lets the radio down in as much as its like using Windows 95 on a present day Mac, but that's another issue entirely. Oh and the Inrix app also randomly makes me re-login to my account and I dutifully do it hoping to see something appear in the Garmin maps, but of course nothing ever shows up. This app along with the Garmin nav UI and the fact that you cannot update the Garmin nav maps without permanetly leaving an SD card slot in the radio (instead of using the card for say, MUSIC), and now the radio not working reliably when starting the engine makes me regret buying Kenwood and should have bought a cheap Chinese head. At least I wouldn't be out so much money when that failed.

You guys need to put back on the weather and fuel prices these are the best features to the KENWOOD head units . Make the weather forecast better and put weather radar and weather warnings spending 1300 dollars is unacceptable if you can’t have all these features? Please bring them back and better thanks

I don’t write many reviews, but I was hoping at some point they would fix the issues. All the reviews are true. And maybe another 1 star review will finally get someones attention. Why can’t it remember when you allow it to connect? As a programer this is very simple to do, and an easy fix. Please fix this or hire someone that can if the technical challenge is too much. It’s disgraceful that this simplistic app holds back my 1,500 Kenwood unit.

No more weather or gas prices

Whoever is in charge of software at Kenwood should be embarrassed at the comments in the ratings. This app never works right/correctly. Every single time I get in my vehicle this thing never stays connected or connects properly it shows up and then I have to sign in every single time

Just bought the DMX 1057 and would love to use the weather widget but once downloading this app and using that widget the radio constantly shuts down and will not work. Horrible app.

I have had my $1k system for a year and the app is not worth a cent. They never update the app. My next system will not be a KENWOOD!

Been using it for about three weeks. Perfect! Saves me time with traffic detours. Automatically connects and stays connected. I have a newer radio than most of these reviews (DNR1007XR). Love it!

Some traffic updates come late or not at all. But most are useful enough. My biggest complaint is I continuously have to log in to my account. There is no option to save log in info. So you need to type everything in each time.

Constantly asking me to accept connection even though I already gave it permission to auto connect. Also randomly logs you out of the app asking you to sign back in. Will also tell you wrong username or email address even when it not. Needs work. Biggest thing STOP LOGGING ME OUT!!!!!!!

This app constantly forgets me, so I have to log in pretty much every time I get in my truck.

I selected connect automatically but it ask every time I get in my vehicle… Every few days it requires me to login / enter my name and email for it to connect… I select save but that doesn’t help. Way outdated and unsafe to expect someone to type their name and email address after they’ve started driving. Also annoying that it alerts a congested area ahead and continues every tenth of mile that I get closer. Typically the congestion is 10 or less vehicles ahead. Nothing worth looking at or detouring. I’m going to wait to see if it’s worthwhile on a trip. If results are no better, it will be deleted from my phone. Big disappointment.

Crap have to have app to get weather on home menu with a stereo that has wifi but wifi don’t work…. Shocking!! Then most times you have to keep signing in rather being signed in all the time having to keep pushing allow! For expensive stereo think this thing would be better.. stereo system not even that great… the big dnr1007xr..

Apparently this app is still incrementally “upgraded” - but the biggest flaws that others have experienced and pointed out continue to be ignored, and chief among them are the frequent disconnects and the app’s demand to be front and center on screen - oftentimes while driving, creating the a distraction versus alleviating one! It isn’t a matter of user preference (not that there are any in the “settings” for this app), this is a safety hazard and needs to be corrected.

Every time I start the car I have to sign in. Pretty useless for hands feee driving. The app also provides weather. I drove from Pittsburgh to Washington DC, the weather app never updated from Pittsburgh during the 5 hour trip.

Whenever I first started using it it worked fine in a few months pass by after an update and it never worked again!I’m currently using iPhone XS max

I hate that I have to enter my data Everytime this app turns on. Please fix the annoying popups.

Frequently it forgets my info and I have to re enter all of it to connect. Wish there would be a fix that would make it to where I didn’t have to constantly mess with it

Traffic app is still down so traffic and weather will not work. KENWOOD not Google has a working number to get a hold of anyone at INRIX.

If you’re looking for an app that can find real time traffic updates this is it. The only thing it can not do is show where the police are like WAZE. Overall a good app. The downside is that mines do not connect automatically. I have to sign in every time.

App works mostly when functioning correctly. Currently it asks me to log in every time I open the app. Please fix this (hasn’t been the first time). Rating one star because there is no way to get in touch with the developer (it takes you to KENWOOD website which is a dead end).

The app is garbage. App constantly makes you log in again. Even if you have it set to auto log in. You still have to confirm which then kicks you off whatever your doing on your phone. This app needs a serious firmware update to address these issues.

this app needs to be fixed it pops up and asks for permission eveytime it connects to carplay and also makes you go to the app in turn leaving the page you where on but apparently you need this app for the weather features!

The INRIX Traffic App, and subscription service, does not work with the new iPhone 12. Very disappointing.

Would be useful if it saved login data and if I didn’t have to allow it every time it connects. When it works it works

This app has to be the worst App ever, always nagging to connect the weather & temperature is never even close to the correct temp. Come on KENWOOD get it together!!!!

If granted permission to use the program why insist on it popping up every time you turn on your vehicle? Even if ignored the program runs so what’s the point?

iPhone user. Forgets the username and pass twice a week. If there is a problem, it hogs the screen until the problem is resolved. Basically useless. Kenwood needs spend more than a nickel to find a better app to interface with the web. I uninstalled this app from the iPhone and didn’t look back.

This app is stupid, annoying and useless. Like the others have said it pops up every time you start your car and forces approval. Delete this app (or better yet don’t install it) and use CarPlay.

I upgrade from a DNX694S to a DNX995S for it’s navigation features some time ago. On a trip to & through Seattle last fall I found the traffic information to be totally useless. The info was so little, and so lagged, it actually proved to be a hindrance. The one time it rerouted me based on traffic data, I ended up behind the traffic I had been in front of. I ended up switching to Google Maps which proved to be extremely more reliable with better real time data. What’s the use of having this high dollar Kenwood if I have to switch screens to Google Maps for better routing and better traffic data? And doing that, the screen shows only Apple CarPlay stuff. INRIX has been down for, what, about a month now? I went back on line for a couple days then down again. The last time it was down I had hoped for improvements, but it was not to be. They do keep extending the free subscription period but what for what good if it’s useless? And pay for a subscription? Not a chance! The DNX995S is very good for sound, but so are other brands. As long as Kenwood stays with INRIX I won’t buy another.

If you have a Kenwood head unit with navigation, you need this app to allow the traffic service to work. This part works well, so does the traffic rerouting if you have it enabled on the radio. Why is it kludge, frustrating, and annoying you ask? Well, I'll tell you. The app continually forgets who I am at random times, so logging in periodically is required. It also requires you to log in again if you switch from LTE to WiFi. The app doesn't truly automatically connect to the radio, you have to "ignore" or "allow" it to connect. Try clicking "ignore", I dare you... It'll keep hounding you to connect and never truly "ignores". Sometimes the app can't connect to the radio for whatever reason, so if you close the app you end up with the "ignore" or "allow" loop. I've no complaints with the Kenwood head unit itself, just this app. Do yourself a favor and buy a head unit that just supports car play or whatever android uses, and use the phone apps that have their own traffic rerouting.

Now I been with out KENWOOD inrix for about 3 months couse the app was messed up every time I try to log in my info it tells error. So now they updated the app to 1.5.2 and now when you put in your info now it says can not connect this is ridiculous I bought the high end model dnx994s I would like to enjoy my traffic and weather info and parking and gas prices. Since it’s still messed up KENWOOD and inrix should do a big over hall on this app and make it more better for there customers like add weather radar and weather warnings and add speed cameras etc.

The app is programmed to force an allow or disallow pop up every single time you start your car. It also drops your login info 75% of the time. It really reeks of lazy lowest bidder coding in order for kenwood to advertise a feature on its radios. When it works it’s ok, it provides the info they say it does, but kenwood has a user interface that’s straight out of the early 2000s and not intuitive. Thank jobs for car play.... Car play provides all the info this app does in an intuitive interface. Skip this and set up CarPlay

After a few months the app will no longer let me log into the traffic server. It is a marginal GPS with out the traffic system. My 10 yesr old Garmin system is far better and seamless. Could not find any customer support.

Has the potential to be something great but isn’t. Constantly interrupts the radio. Why can’t it just auto connect? Free two year trial worked OK. Now there doesn’t seem to be any support. Was going to consider renewing but no way to find out how. Half the time it fails when trying to log in or doesn’t recognize credentials.

Since the update the app on a longer allow me to sign in even if I try to make a new account it will not allow me to sign in

When I think of the name Kenwood, I think of awesome audio. I strongly suggest you do, too, as audio is all the are awesome at. They sure as heck don’t know how to write an app that works. I bought a DNX995S because I wanted the best, which includes a GPS with traffic. Well, I got a GPS. Had I know how completely worthless the traffic and traffic app would be, I would have just got a head unit that supported CarPlay. That’s what I am using now as this can’t seem to get straight. Kenwood, can you fix this?

This outfit reminds me of car counters after online sales managed to get the knowledgeable guy layed off. Called 800-843-6124 and got a hold of David. He will right you a ticket to have the app specific person call you. Good luck. The manually entered my credentials in there server, with which I tried their app with 3 different phones: iPhone 6, iPhone XR, iPhone XR, iPhone 8. All this over 3 months. It never worked with the same server error. Add it to the Kenwood crap app list.

App has been completely broken since the last update. It no longer logs into the service and therefore doesn’t provide traffic data to the receiver. There seems to be absolutely no support from Kenwood when issues occur with this app. If no stars was an option that would be my rating.

Despite all the negative reviews Kenwood and inrix just keep plugging asking ignoring it's customer base. News flash! Will never buy a Kenwood GPS head unit again. That's a great business model! Anyway, integrated GPS app like the garmin are likely done as evidenced by this app support to make us use waze, Google, or apple maps. All the negative reviews are accurate and after a few months of working, the app finally died and never connects despite it's incessant communication attempts with my deck and interruptions at each start up to my phone. Business's that ghost it's customers should fail.

dont buy this traffic doesnt work

I’ve had this app as long as I’ve had my KENWOOD radio thinking it would help with traffic updates. It works like crap! It constant overrides whatever you’re doing to let you know it’s not connected. You can close the app and it’ll still pop back up repeatedly. More recently I’ve had to delete the app because while in my paid subscription time the app logged out and will not recognize my account. I can’t create a new account because I already have an account. I don’t know if this app even does anything with my radio! It’s bothersome and annoying! You can’t turn notifications off at all. And once it gets into a cycle of trying to connect to the radio IT WILL NOT STOP OR CONNECT.

Worked for about 1 week now just keep getting wrong log in info which is incorrect. So tried to make a new account still can’t log in. Definitely something wrong with app. Useless

Whenever there’s a new “update”, this app doesn’t cease to mess up something else. I’ve always tried to give this app a fair opportunity to work because KENWOOD doesn’t specialize in car maps. This new update is saying that my credentials are incorrect, which I know isn’t true. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!!! When the app works, it works perfectly, however, when it doesn’t, it’s a mess and annoying.
