If you have a Kenwood head unit with navigation, you need this app to allow the traffic service to work. This part works well, so does the traffic rerouting if you have it enabled on the radio.
Why is it kludge, frustrating, and annoying you ask? Well, I'll tell you.
The app continually forgets who I am at random times, so logging in periodically is required. It also requires you to log in again if you switch from LTE to WiFi.
The app doesn't truly automatically connect to the radio, you have to "ignore" or "allow" it to connect. Try clicking "ignore", I dare you... It'll keep hounding you to connect and never truly "ignores".
Sometimes the app can't connect to the radio for whatever reason, so if you close the app you end up with the "ignore" or "allow" loop.
I've no complaints with the Kenwood head unit itself, just this app.
Do yourself a favor and buy a head unit that just supports car play or whatever android uses, and use the phone apps that have their own traffic rerouting.
